What to watch on TV tonight: Friday
DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.
The Graham Norton Show (BBC1, 10.35pm/BBC1 NI, 11.05pm)
Loads of talent on the couch tonight as Graham is joined by Tom Cruise, off to promote his new film The Mummy. Zac Efron, meanwhile, is chatting up Baywatch, while Gossip frontwoman Beth Ditto will perform her new solo single. #grahamnorton
Boyhood (RTÉ2, 9.35pm)
This movie was a labour of love for director Richard Linklater. Filmed over a decade, it depicts the childhood and adolescence of a boy growing up in Texas. Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette play the parents, while Ellar Coltrane literally grows up onscreen.
Philomena (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)
Another Oscar-nominated film here, with Judi Dench starring as Philomena Lee, an Irish woman searching for her forcibly adopted son. Steve Coogan plays Martin Sixsmith, the journalist who decides to investigate the case. Powerful stuff.
